How do I issue a credit memo?
A credit memo is a document notifying the client that you reduced the client's balance.
- Open the A/R Detail Inquiry for the client.
- Select the Line Item Detail tab.
- Right-click on the original invoice and select Issue Credit Memo for. ServMan copies all of the items from the original invoice but with negative quantities. It is important that the quantities be negative so that stock items are returned to inventory.
- Right-click on each line item that needs to be removed and select Delete Row.
- Adjust the quantity and price for the remaining items as needed.
- Click Save and Close to return to the A/R Detail Inquiry.
- (Optional) Right-click on the credit memo (it will be highlight in orange and listed below the updated transactions) and select Update to A/R.
